Three people have been killed and a minimum of nine individuals got hurt in the most recent Ukrainian strike on the Russian border region of Belgorod, according to local officials.

The deaths happened following a strike on the community of Maslova Pristan during Wednesday morning, sources confirmed. First responders were persisting in looking for people potentially caught under wreckage.

It is the third consecutive day that Ukraine has struck the region, leaving thousands of people without power and no fewer than two additional individuals fatally injured.

Series of Attacks Result in Destruction

The Wednesday wave of aerial assaults damaged homes, transportation and energy systems in various areas of Belgorod, as reported by official statements.

Authorities shared images from the village depicting a athletic facility with its structure and exterior blown apart, and stated that emergency personnel were removing wreckage and evaluating the destruction.

In the nearby town of Moshchenoye, six individuals - involving a young person - were injured when missile and drone targeted transportation, while a man was hurt when a car was hit in Masychevo.

Power Outages Hit Many

These attacks come after two days of similar attacks that have led to electricity failures and structural damage in urban Belgorod and nearby regions.

Nearly 40,000 residents were affected by power cuts across multiple districts, according to government sources.

Broader Context of Conflict

Ukraine has dramatically increased the volume of assaults directed at Russian oil refineries in recent months, causing petroleum deficits and expense hikes in certain Russian regions.

At least 21 of the country's primary processing facilities - at locations transforming oil into practical energy sources like petrol and diesel - have been targeted this year, significantly more than as throughout last year.

Continuing Conflict

Simultaneously, Russian attacks on Ukraine are continuing. Ukrainian aerial defenses said on Wednesday its protective measures destroyed or neutralized 154 unmanned aircraft, but two dozen hit objectives in numerous areas.
