Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

An official for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.

The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
